Kathmandu: The Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) on Thursday organized a formal farewell and welcome program honoring Harkirat Singh Bedi, Business Head of Dabur Nepal, and welcoming his successor, Vijay Ameta.

The program acknowledged Bedi’s distinguished tenure at Dabur Nepal and his significant contributions to NICCI, where he served as vice president, as well as to the Indian Business Forum (IBF) under NICCI as convener. NICCI members highlighted his role in strengthening institutional collaboration, promoting ethical business practices, and deepening Nepal-India private sector engagement.

Welcoming the participants, NICCI’s officiating president Kunal Kayal underscored Bedi’s leadership in fostering dialogue and trust between business stakeholders of both countries. He also highlighted Dabur Nepal’s sustained contribution to Nepal’s economy.

General Secretary Rajan Sharma expressed NICCI’s appreciation for Bedi’s contributions to the Chamber and the broader Nepali economy, noting the positive impact of his leadership on trade facilitation and corporate responsibility initiatives.

Similarly, co-convenor of the Indian Business Forum Saibal Gosh praised Bedi’s effective stewardship as NICCI vice president and IBF convener, citing his ability to build consensus and advance the Forum’s strategic priorities.

The program concluded with closing remarks from NICCI vice president Gaurav Tayal, the current convener of IBF. He extended best wishes to both Bedi and Ameta, welcomed Ameta to his new role, and expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen Dabur Nepal’s engagement with NICCI and the wider business community.

NICCI reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Dabur Nepal – has been recognized by the government as the largest taxpayer (export) category – and its leadership to promote bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Nepal and India.

कार्यक्रममा डाबरमा बेदीको उल्लेखनीय कार्यकाल तथा निक्कीका उपाध्यक्ष र निक्कीअन्तर्गतको इन्डियन विजनेस फोरम (आइबीएफ)का संयोजकका रूपमा उनले पुर्‍याएको महत्वपूर्ण योगदानको प्रशंसा गरिएको थियो। निक्क्ीका सदस्यहरूले संस्थागत सहकार्य सुदृढ पार्न, नैतिक व्यावसायिक अभ्यास प्रवर्द्धन गर्न र नेपाल–भारत निजी क्षेत्रबीचको सहकार्य गहिरो बनाउन बेदीले खेलेको भूमिकाको प्रशंसा गरे।

सहभागीहरूको स्वागत गर्दै निक्कीका कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष कुनाल कयालले दुवै देशका व्यवसायिक सरोकारवालाबीच संवाद र विश्वास निर्माणमा बेदीको नेतृत्वलाई रेखांकित गरे। उनले नेपालको अर्थतन्त्रमा डाबरले निरन्तर पुर्‍याउँदै आएको योगदानसमेत उल्लेख गरे।

महासचिव राजन शर्माले चेम्बर र समग्र नेपाली अर्थतन्त्रप्रति बेदीले पुर्‍याएको योगदानप्रति निक्कीको कृतज्ञता व्यक्त गर्दै व्यापार सहजीकरण र कर्पोरेट सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्वका पहलहरूमा उनको नेतृत्वले पारेको सकारात्मक प्रभावलाई उल्लेख गरे।

यसैगरी, आइबीएफका सह–संयोजक सैवाल घोषले निक्कीका उपाध्यक्ष तथा आइबीएफका संयोजकका रूपमा बेदीको प्रभावकारी नेतृत्वको प्रशंसा गर्दै सहमति निर्माण र फोरमका रणनीतिक प्राथमिकताहरू अघि बढाउन उनले देखाएको क्षमताको प्रशंशा गरे।

कार्यक्रम निक्कीका उपाध्यक्ष तथा हालका आइबीएफ संयोजक गौरव तयालले समापन मन्तव्यसहित बेदी र अमेता दुवैलाई शुभकामना व्यक्त गर्दै अमेतालाई नयाँ भूमिकामा स्वागत गरे र उनको नेतृत्वले डाबर नेपाल र निक्की तथा व्यापक व्यवसायिक समुदायबीचको सहकार्य थप सुदृढ हुने विश्वास व्यक्त गरे।

निक्क्ीले सरकारबाट निर्यात श्रेणीमा सबैभन्दा ठूलो करदाताका रूपमा मान्यता प्राप्त डाबर नेपाल तथा यसको नयाँ नेतृत्वसँग सहकार्य गर्दै नेपाल–भारतबीच द्विपक्षीय व्यापार, लगानी र आर्थिक सहकार्य प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने प्रतिबद्धता पुनः दोहोर्‍याएको छ।
