Sunil KC is the President of the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI), where he has led the apex bi-national chamber to facilitate trade, transit, and investment between Nepal and India since 2024.

Sunil was previously the Vice President of NICCI, where he served for five years and played a pivotal role in advancing cross-border partnerships. A young entrepreneur and Track II diplomacy advocate with deep expertise in the Public-Private Partnership landscape. Sunil oversees significant infrastructure and energy companies, serving as Director of High Himal Hydro Construction, Nepal’s No. 1 EPC Hydro Contractor, and Singati Hydro Energy Limited, the latter of which successfully connected a 25 MW Run-of-the-River project to the national grid in 2021. He is also an Executive Director at Mountain Infra Company Limited, the first public limited construction firm in Nepal. Additionally, he founded the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) in 2014, growing it into one of Nepal’s most respected independent think tanks, and established the Asian Institute of Artificial Intelligence (AIAI) as the subsidiary of AIDIA in 2025. Since 2017, he has been the Founder and Managing Director of Himalaya Vista International Trading and founded Himalaya Vista Consultancy, a business consultancy firm operating in South Asia, Central Asia, and the Western Balkans.

Before his current leadership roles, Sunil started his career at the age of 13 as a reporter for Radio Swargadwari FM in Ghorahi, Dang, and later co-founded Radio Tulsipur FM 100.2 MHz, a community radio station. He served as a Visiting Faculty Member at Mid-West University and as an Advisor to the President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries. He currently serves on the Board as a think tank member of the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Board and the Executive Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, an apex body of Nepalese Private Sector Business fraternity, where he served as an advisor for International Investment Promotion earlier and is an Advisor to Obeetee Nepal, a subsidiary of Obeetee India, No.1 Hand Knitted Carpet manufacturer in India as well as the Advisor for Asian Affairs at EDU Intergovernmental in Brussels since 2016. His articles have been published in leading newspapers across South Asia, and he has also written more than a dozen popular Nepalese modern songs.

Sunil grew up in Dang, Asia’s largest valley, and is a Political Science scholar with an Honours degree.

Mrs. Shreejana Rana is the Immediate Past President of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI). Mrs. Rana is the Excecutive Director of Annapurna Group of Hotels. She is a prominent figure in Nepal’s business and tourism sectors.  She is also one of the founding members of the Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN).

Ms. Rana has been actively involved in the development of tourism in Nepal. She has served as the President of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) for two tenures. Additionally, she has contributed to women’s empowerment through her work with Zonta Club Nepal.

In recognition of her contributions, Ms. Rana was honoured by the Honourable President of Nepal, Ram Chandra Paudel, during a formal program at Shital Niwas, Kathmandu. She has also represented NICCI at various events, such as the Indo-Pacific Economic Conclave 2023, hosted by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr. Gaurav Tayal is the Vice President of Nepal India Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He is the Managing Director of Surya Nepal Private Limited. Gaurav Tayal (45) joined the Company as Chief Operating Officer (‘COO’) in October 2025 and took charge as its Managing Director in December 2025. He is also the Chairman of Surya Nepal Ventures Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, Gaurav has over 22 years of experience in manufacturing, design and engineering projects, business excellence, new product scale-up and commercialization, and supply chain operations.

Gaurav joined ITC Limited in June 2003 and has worked across multiple businesses in the FMCG sector, handling several senior management roles. Prior to being deputed to Nepal, Gaurav was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Matches & Agarbatti Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of ITC Limited, India.

Mr. Kunal Kayal is Honorary Consulate of Jordan in Nepal.

Mr. Rajan Sharma is the General Secretary of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI). He is the Director at Quality Freight Service Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Sharma is the Former Chairman at Transportation and logistics committee and Executive member FNCCI (2014 to 2018), Former President at Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEEFA) (2013 to 2019). He was an advisor to -Commodity Council, Export committee of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) as well as Nepal Freight Forwarders association at present (2021-2022). He served as consultant for Transport and Logistic research for The World Bank for enhancing regional connectivity (2021-2022). He has done several work with the International trade Center, Geneva like Identifying NTMs, preparing export guides for China on Herbal/MAPS and woollen carpets , export guide for Coffee and Pashmina products to USA, Europe, Japan , South Korea and England ( 2021-2022). Currently he is the CEO/Director of Quality Freight Service Pvt. Ltd. (Freight Forwarding Company). Mr. Sharma has Bachelor’s degree in English & Economics and Master’s degree in Social Sciences from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

Mr. Kiran Malla is Treasurer at NICCI. He is the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Armenia for Nepal.

Mr. Batu Lamichhane is a renowned entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in Nepal's renewable energy sector, specializing in sustainable hydropower development. His expertise has been instrumental in advancing environmentally responsible energy generation and transformative infrastructure projects across the country.

Under his leadership, nearly 150 MW of hydropower projects have been successfully constructed and commissioned. Currently, he is overseeing the development of four projects, totaling approximately 100 MW, which are set for completion by July 2026. Additionally, four more projects are in the feasibility and detailed design stages, with construction scheduled to commence later this year. Over the next five years, these initiatives will collectively contribute more than 500 MW of clean energy, further strengthening Nepal’s power sector.

Mr. Lamichhane serves as the Executive Chairman of Orbit Energy Ltd., leading the construction of the Sabha Khola B & C Hydropower Project (27MW). He also holds key executive roles with:

·         Nar Khola Hydro Energy Pvt. Ltd., overseeing the Nar Khola Hydropower Project (65MW)

·         Annapurna Vidyut Bikash Company, leading the Landruk Modi Hydroelectric Project (86.59MW)

·         Habitat Power Company, managing the Hewa Khola A Small Hydropower Project (9.9MW)

Previously, as Executive Chairman of Singati Hydro Energy Ltd., he successfully spearheaded the Singati Khola Hydropower Project (25MW). This landmark initiative involved the construction of a 6 km-long tunnel and a 26 km transmission line, significantly enhancing Nepal’s electricity grid and driving economic growth in the Singati region.

Beyond energy development, Mr. Lamichhane is committed to fostering international collaboration and economic growth. As an Advisor to the Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN) and an Executive Member of the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), he actively works to strengthen bilateral relations and create opportunities for sustainable development.
