Gaurav Tayal Appointed Vice President of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Kathmandu: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) has appointed managing director of Surya Nepal Gaurav Tayal as its vice president. The decision was taken by the Chamber’s Executive Committee meeting held on Tuesday.

Tayal succeeds Ravi Rayavaram in the role. He recently assumed charge as managing director of Surya Nepal and now takes on the vice-presidential responsibility at NICCI, further strengthening the leadership continuum between the two institutions.

Welcoming the appointment, NICCI President Sunil K.C. expressed confidence in Tayal’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the Chamber’s mission. “Tayal’s engagement with NICCI will add fresh momentum to our initiatives and help the Chamber expand its reach and impact,” K.C. said.

The Executive Committee and the President of NICCI jointly welcomed Tayal and conveyed their expectation that, during his tenure, the Chamber will play an even more active role in facilitating bilateral trade, economic cooperation, and broader engagement between Nepal and India.

Gaurav Tayal is a seasoned corporate leader with extensive experience in managing large, diversified businesses. As managing director of Surya Nepal, he oversees the company’s strategic direction, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement. Known for his collaborative leadership style, Tayal has been closely involved in initiatives that promote sustainable growth and cross-border economic cooperation.

Likewise, Surya Nepal has been associated with NICCI since the Chamber’s establishment and has remained one of its active and committed members. Tayal’s appointment is seen as a continuation of this long-standing partnership and shared vision for regional economic collaboration.

NICCI has two vice presidents, representing Indian joint ventures (JV) and Nepali businesses respectively. Gaurav Tayal has been appointed vice president representing Indian JV, whereas the other vice president is Kunal Kayal, who represents the Nepali business community.

काठमाडौंः नेपाल–भारत उद्योग वाणिज्य संघ (निक्की) ले सुर्य नेपालका प्रबन्ध निर्देशक गौरव तयाललाई संघको उपाध्यक्षमा नियुक्त गरेको छ। मंगलबार बसेको संघको कार्यकारिणी समितिको बैठकले तयाललाई उपाध्यक्षमा नियुक्त गर्ने निर्णय गरेको हो।

तयालले रवि रायावरमको स्थान लिएका हुन्। हालै मात्र सुर्य नेपालको प्रबन्ध निर्देशकको जिम्मेवारी सम्हालेका तयालले अब निक्कीमा पनि उपाध्यक्षको भूमिका निर्वाह गर्ने भएका हुन्। उनको नियुक्तिले यी दुई संस्थाबीचको नेतृत्वगत निरन्तरतालाई थप सुदृढ बनाउने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ।

नियुक्तिप्रति स्वागत गर्दै निक्कीका अध्यक्ष सुनिल केसीले तयाललको क्षमताप्रति विश्वास व्यक्त गर्दै निक्कीले उपाध्यक्षको अभिभारा सुम्पेको बताए। “निक्कीसँग उहाँको सक्रिय संलग्नताले हाम्रा भविष्यका योजनाहरूलाई नयाँ ऊर्जा दिनेछ र संघको पहुँच तथा प्रभाव विस्तार गर्न सहयोग पुर्‍याउनेछ,” अध्यक्ष केसीले भने।

निक्कीको कार्यकारिणी समिति तथा अध्यक्षले संयुक्त रूपमा तयाललाई उपाध्यक्षको जिम्मेवारीमा स्वागत गर्दै उनको कार्यकालमा संघले नेपाल–भारतबीचको द्विपक्षीय व्यापार, आर्थिक सहकार्य तथा समग्र सम्बन्ध प्रवर्द्धनमा अझ सक्रिय भूमिका खेल्ने विश्वास व्यक्त गरेका छन्।

गौरव तयाल व्यवस्थापनमा व्यापक अनुभव भएका एक अनुभवी कर्पोरेट नेतृत्वकर्ता हुन्। सुर्य नेपालको प्रबन्ध निर्देशकका रूपमा उनले कम्पनीको रणनीतिक दिशा, सञ्चालन उत्कृष्टता तथा सरोकारवालासँगको समन्वयको नेतृत्व गरिरहेका छन्। सहकार्यमा आधारित नेतृत्व शैलीका लागि परिचित तयाल दिगो विकास र सीमा–पार आर्थिक सहकार्य प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने पहलहरूमा सक्रिय रूपमा संलग्न रहँदै आएका छन्।

यसैगरी, सुर्य नेपाल निक्कीको स्थापना कालदेखि नै आबद्ध रहँदै आएको र संघका सक्रिय तथा प्रतिबद्ध सदस्यहरूमध्ये एक हो। त्यर्सैले तयालको नियुक्तिलाई यस दीर्घकालीन साझेदारी र क्षेत्रीय आर्थिक सहकार्यप्रतिको साझा दृष्टिकोणको निरन्तरताका रूपमा हेरिएको छ।

निक्कीमा दुई जना उपाध्यक्ष रहने प्रावधान छन्। जसमा एक जना भारतीय संयुक्त लगानी (जेभी) क्षेत्रको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्छन् भने अर्कोले नेपाली व्यवसायिक क्षेत्रको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्छन्। भारतीय संयुक्त लगनी क्षेत्रको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दै गौरव तयाल उपाध्यक्षमा नियुक्त भएका छन् भने नेपाली व्यवसायिक समुदायको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्ने अर्का उपाध्यक्ष कुनाल कायल रहेका छन्।
